The Cornwallis Academy Sixth Form provides a welcoming environment where each student is supported both academically and pastorally.
A typical day for a year 12 or 13 student will not consist solely of lessons and study sessions, but it may also involve assemblies and tutor time as well as enrichment activities where we support in other areas of the school in a number of roles ranging from librarians to Teaching Assistants.
Sixth Form students are encouraged to play an active role in charity initiatives such as RAG (Raise and Give) week and Children in Need. In addition, the students manage every aspect of their Leavers’ Prom at the end of 13 – a fantastic way to celebrate and reflect on their Sixth Form experiences.
Students are treated as young adults, which leads to the development of excellent relationships with teachers. Hard work is rewarded frequently, and additional support always provided when needed.
The Sixth Form readies students for their next steps in life, whether that be university, apprenticeships or the world of work.
